How to do Bondage Rope Ties

Learning how to make the right knots and wraps when you are playing with bondage can take some time, at the end of the day is completely worth it. Let’s take a look at how to make some of the most common (and basic!) ones, shall we?

The Paula Klaw:

Put the rope over the limbs of your preference (legs or arms) and wrap the ends several times around both limbs. You do this in order to distribute the pressure a bit more, instead of just putting all the pressure in one spot at the same time. Remember to let them a bit loose, stop just when you can do about one or two more circles.

Then, stop at the center of said limbs and twist the ends against each other, kind of like rotating at the corner of a crossroad (but with less directions, wink*). Once you have changed directions, just wrap the ends between the limbs to make it tighter. When you are happy with the pressure, make a square knot. You will want to wrap the rope a bit looser and then cinch a bit tighter in order to hold each limb securely and to make it easier on your little slave, wink*.

The double rope style (Japanese inspired)

First, you will want to pleat the rope in a way that is comfortable and even. You can do this by doing a Lark’s Head. “And what exactly is that”? Just double fold the rope at the center. Then, wrap one and get the two ends through the Lark’s Head (getting the hang of it, I’m sure); you can then reverse the direction to keep the enfolding.

When you have enough rope left for one more wrap, it’s tome to make a pause and pull the ends, perpendicularly, through the Lark’s Head (now you are loving the name, I’m sure wink*). Grab one end and take it up, the other will go down, and then you can wrap them at the right angle from the original fold. This kind of cross fold will be the cinch.

Now, you can stop the cinching when you are almost out of rope, grab both ends and make a simple square knot.

Now, in what positions should you tie the limbs? How? What do I do with this information? Don’t get stressed, my dear friend. I will try to guide you in the right path. Let’s start with a few ideas for the ankles:

  • Easy crossed: It makes the legs look really beautiful and sexy, that’s why most women are put in this position.
  • Strict crossed: Here, the calves are not parallel; they will we tied in a way the knees and legs will be forced apart and open. Now, I don’t need to tell you why this position can be so helpful and sexy and amazing, right?
  • Parallel: You will want to tie them around like this of you want your captive to be able to roll alone (it’s really helpful, wink*).

As for our lovely wrists:

  • First, remember rope is not a good friend if you want to tie one limb. Rope is used when you are binding two limbs together. If you are looking to fly solo, don’t pull the tension in one wrap and use a handkerchief.
  • Crossed: The elbows will be bent outwards and it will look incredibly seductive. Just remember not to force the arms in the bondage.
  • Japanese: If you have broad shoulders, definitely try this one (or if you’re slave has them, wink*). The forearms will form a parallel at the small of the back, with the elbows bent at a right ankle. The folds are done vertically and the optional cinch will be in an opposite horizontal position.
  • Hammerlocked: This is a variation of the Japanese style I mentioned above. The wrists will be crossed upwards, into the middle of the shoulder blades. By the way, only super flexible humans should attempt it.
  • Wrist to palm: Here, the cinch will be vertical and the wrapping horizontal. The good news is the person you have tied up will be able to change their arm position to avoid pain or cramps.

If what you are looking for is more cinches and less wrapping (with more space between limbs), a hobble will do. So, about bar wraps and hobbles:

  • Elbow Bar Wrap: If the person cannot touch their elbows behind their back, a hobble above them will make the arm bondage more secure.
  • Hobbled wrists: If your slave cannot tie their wrists together, a hobble between the wrists is the perfect solution.
  • Hobbled ankles: You can also tie the knees; they are safe and provide balance.

“What about harnesses?”  Well those are really fun as well wink*:

  • Yoke harness for hand support: First, tie their wrists around the back, horizontally and Japanese style. Divide the rope after the knotting; get each end through one underarm, to the front and behind the neck. Knot them when you are done. With this, the weight of the arms and wrists will be held by the shoulders.
  • Yoke chest harness: First, stand behind your slave and place the Lark’s head at the middle of their back. Fold the chest and arms above the breasts and wrap bellow them. Then, you can reverse direction by bringing the ends through the Lark’s Head. Pass the ropes under one armpit to the front, over the shoulder and behind the neck. Then go down in front the other shoulder, under the armpit and to the back. You should finish at the Lark’s Head. Separate the ends, place one through the Lark’s Head and do a simple square knot.
  • Bikini chest harness: Do the same as the one I mentioned above, with the Lark’s Head at the center of their back. You can fold above and bellow the chest; after you are done getting the ropes through the Lark, place the ropes straight above the shoulders at the front. Run the ropes between the chest area, reverse direction (over the other shoulder to the back) and tie around the Lark’s Head.
