Please tell us a little bit about yourself – How would you describe your everyday vanilla life?
Recently retired communication engineer.
When did you first realize you were into bondage?
The early 80’s. But we all grew up with Snidely Whiplash tying damsels in distress to railroad tracks (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PhC_JJwlep0)
How you best describe yourself and why? Your choices are: Dominant, Submissive, Switch or Fuzzy Rainbow Unicorn.
Well I like to switch…. after all, too much of anything is monotonous. Which is how I found bondage to start with. Trying to keep a spark in a long term monogamous relationship requires imagination and willingness from both participants. I think many marriages get in trouble because the lust is directed toward others as we try to chase that thrilling feeling like we had with our first loves.
Do you feel that your desire for bondage is more physical or emotional? (please elaborate)
For me it’s 100% physical. It’s a turn on just thinking about being in full control or full submission and having your partner playing the opposite while you both enjoy getting to a new heights with each other.
Were lovers accepting of your interest in bondage?
Reluctant at first, but more accepting as the encounters continued. Has she ever asked for it, no, but then she hasn’t had to either.
Please briefly describe your first bondage experience.
I think it was when I used some old neckties to restrict my wife’s arms while I made love to her. We had just watched the movie “Going South”, there is a scene in the movie where Mary Steenburgen is tied to the bed.
What was your best bondage experience?
There have been so many but one of the first most memorable was when I had my wife sitting on the edge of the hope chest, legs spread wide with her arms and legs tied fully exposing all the fun places and having her literally jumping as I over stimulated all of them orally.
What is the most creative safe word you have ever used?
Hum the Battle Hymn of the Republic.
What do you feel is most important about the experience of bondage?
It needs to be done out of love when both of you are in the right frame of mind.
What is the best advice you would give to someone just starting out with BDSM?
Wow, let’s start with go slow first.
I don’t do S&M that intentionally causes severe pain. It’s a real conflict for me to want to hurt the person I love with all of my heart.
Expect to be disappointed if the scenario you envisioned doesn’t work out the way you planned. Things happen, like a cramp or a limb going numb or an accidental over indulgence, which results in an uncomfortable situation. Work through it and try again soon.
Communicate with your sub. You may only get grunts or moans back but don’t assume that they are enjoying it as much as you are. The challenge is to make it more enjoyable for them than to you. Do that and I guarantee you both will be checking your schedules for the next time you get to play.
What is your favorite gear, toy or lingerie item fromsub-shop.com and why?
The toy (we call all of our play things toys) we use the most are the Velcro wrist and leg cuffs. They take enough time to put on so that the act is sensual but they can come off fast if necessary.
What is the one sensual fantasy you haven’t lived out yet that you are excited to try?
See attached story: Doug’s night.
What’s your favorite knock-knock joke?
Sorry don’t have one. But there is one joke that everyone enjoys:
Santa slides down the chimney and finds a beautiful women sitting on the couch.
She has a robe on and calls to him “Santa Clause come here.”
Santa replies “HO, HO got go, many toys to deliver tonight!”
She lets the robe drop off her shoulders reveling a very sexy body in a bustier and calls again “Santa Clause come here.”
Santa looks and hesitates but answers as he did before “HO, HO got go, many toys to deliver tonight!”
She stands and offers her shapely bottom while shaking it as she bends over calling “Santa Clause come here.”
Well even Santa has his limits and he responds, “Hey, Hey gotta stay, can’t get up the chimney this away.”
What is Eskimo ice?
I have no idea!
