Why Jute rope? Jute rope is favored because it's light and has a lot of "grip", meaning it's easy to tie and stays tied. The fibers can be scratchy at first, but wear nicely to a comfortable, slightly hairy fiber with a few uses. You can also put it in an old pillow case to wash it which will soften it further. A quick wash will also help remove some of the "new" smell of this rope as jute rope is conditioned with Jute Batching Oil, which is what makes the fibers last so long, but has a kerosene like smell. Just wash it in an old pillow case and dry it to clean and soften your rope.
You'll want to get several lengths for all the tie ups you want to do; full-body bondage, body harnesses, practicing your Shibari -style rope bondages and just the simple ankles, knees, wrists, arms and breast bondages we all love so much.
The ends are sealed with tape so it won't unravel. If you cut this rope into smaller lengths, wrap a good tape around it first where you want to make the cut, like our World's Best Gag Tape (offered in 11 colors!), then cut in the middle of the tape.
