Sensory deprivation is one of the most popular forms of play out there. And if you are of those who love to incorporate it to their lives, you will need a hood. You can find them in several models; from the ones that cover the whole face and part of the neck, to those that leave the facial area open but cover the hairline and throat to basically any combination you can think of.
You can use hoods in combination with other pieces of equipment you like. For instance, you can use metal rings and attach them to handcuffs. Or you can use those rings to add a lock (extra pressure for the sub) or chains. You can get as creative as you wish, so your partner may be restricted in whatever way you prefer because there are plenty of possibilities. In addition to rings, you can also find some designs with built in gags or even leather blindfolds.
On the other hand, you can also go for simpler models. Some people like to add on a gag for example or use a separate blindfold from the hood. There are plenty of models that feature a removable blindfold and/or mouth covers for you to add a gag if you like. As usual everything will depend on what youβre looking for and your particular tastes.
Most leather hoods offer full leather lining, although you can find some that are unlined. The only thing to keep in mind if you want one that isnβt lined, itβs to make sure the finish is comfortable enough for you to wear so it doesnβt create a nuisance on your face. And there are plenty of leather hoods out there that offer a full padding, if youβre so inclined.
As for the closure, most hoods have a lace one so you can adapt and choose how tight or how loose you want to wear it (or how your partner wants to wear it wink*). The thing to keep in mind is to be careful about the laces so they donβt pull on your partnerβs hair if they have long hair. As they say, there is a hood for everyone out there! You just have to know where to look wink*.
