I'm actually a pretty average person in my vanilla life. My BDSM experiences are all sexually oriented.
When did you first realize you were into bondage?
To be honest, I first became fascinated with bondage (without even really knowing the extent at the time) when I was young and watched an episode of Happy Days (I'm dating myself, but it was a first run episode LOL) where Fonzie was tied to a chair. I don't even remember why within the context of the episode, but given it was Happy Days, for sure it wasn't sexual or submissive... LOL
How you best describe yourself and why? Your choices are: Dominant, Submissive, Switch or Fuzzy Rainbow Unicorn.
Well, I'm definitely not a Fuzzy Rainbow Unicorn. :) Sexually speaking, I associate best with a Switch as, depending upon mood, I'm either submissive or dominant.
Do you feel that your desire for bondage is more physical or emotional? (please elaborate)
Whether I'm dominant or submissive, I always feel bondage to be more physical than emotional. While I understand the psychology on each side, for me, personally, whether I'm being bound or am the one binding, it's all about the physical aspect of being restrained. Also on either side of my desires, I use bondage to create various real physical feelings via the blood constriction associated with tight bondage. Keeping this PG-13, you'll just have to imagine the various body parts I'm referencing... ;)
Were lovers accepting of your interest in bondage?

Well, I'm not sure how I can do that and remain PG-13 and not overly graphic... LOL Suffice to say, my first bondage experience was actually on myself and involved, shall we say, self CBT... What do you feel is most important about the experience of bondage?
Having already mentioned that it is the physical aspect of bondage that intrigues and excites me, I will say what I feel is most important about bondage is trust - both the trust earned and the trust being given. When you are restrained, it is, to me, the ultimate representation of your submission as you are now relying 100% on the other (Dominant) to take care of you, listen, to you, and watch you to make sure that no harm is caused.
What is the best advice you would give to someone just starting out with BDSM?
My best advice is two-fold: 1) Find out yourself what excites you, interests you, and where your limits may be and whether you want them pushed. Do this as best you can with self exploration or with someone that understand that you are NEW to the whole experience and 2) When you do find someone, make sure they are not only compatible with your goals, interests, limits, etc. but that they are also understand your experience level. Especially if you are submissive, do NOT use that as an excuse for your Dominant to take advantage of you. Yes, you would be submissive to them, but there is still a certain amount of respect that should exist. Too many people think being dominant means you get to be pushy and disrespectful, but it's simply not the case...
