For some reason or the other, we all have time in our lives when we don’t have that much sex. This is usually due to not having a partner for some time, being out of the dating scene for a while or even a long distance relationship. This is a bummer because if you ask me, everyone should be having more sex but let’s examine what happens to your body when you don’t have sex for a while.
When you don’t have sex in a while two things can happen: you can either be extremely turned on and horny by the simplest image or touch so live in a constant state of frustration, or you could simply give up and stay in a sort of dormant stage when you don’t even want to get up your bed to do grab a drink of water. As you can see, both things are equally bad for you.
The first thing you will be able to notice is next time you have sex, you may not be on your top form. Now, sex is like riding a bike so it is not as if you will forget, but you are not going to be on your best game. But men who aren’t that sexually active in their 50’s, 60’s and 70’s are at an increased risk of erectile dysfunction. But the silver lining is you can reverse this effect by masturbating if you don’t have a partner.
And speaking of masturbation, did you know the risk of getting prostate cancer increases if you don’t masturbate? Science has found men should masturbate at least 4 times each week to lower their chances of cancer. So yes, masturbation is healthy and even if you don’t have a partner, you should always ejaculate…in the name of health of course wink*
Now, something else that occurs when you don’t have sex is that you get more stressed out and tense. Sex is a good way to blow of steam; so not having it means you will be more edgy. This has a simple explanation: when you have sex your body liberates endorphins that help you cope, so when you don’t resort to that as a way to get calmer, you will definitely feel the effects on your mental health.
What is more surprising is not getting some may actually be negative for your work performance. Maybe this is due to the fact happier people tend to be more productive and happier people are usually happy because they have sex regularly. If you want to improve at work, you better come up with a plan to have more sex.
Something else that gets negatively affected is your overall health. Your blood pressure may increase to the roof if you don’t have sex regularly. Several studies have shown people who get it on frequently have lower blood pressures than those who don’t. This is probably due to the stress factor I mentioned earlier; sex lowers your stress levels and thus, your blood pressure.
As you can see there are a bunch of negative effects to not having sex for a while, so you should avoid it as much as you can. I know realistically you are not in control of this all of the time, but try to be mindful of your health. And as you can see, you don’t need a partner. Masturbation is equally important when it comes to maintaining your health, so make sure to create some time for yourself even when you are going through a dry spell. Relax, get comfortable, find something that turns you on and grab your favorite toy or go out with your hands. All in the name of health wink*
