Please tell us a little bit about yourself – How would you describe your everyday vanilla life?
My vanilla life is very laid back and low key. I love to laugh, so I crack jokes and try to find humor in most things. I'm a musician, so I obviously have a passion for music. I'm also a big movie watcher. I've been through some big health issues over the years, so I tend to really focus on and appreciate the important things in life that truly matter.
When did you first realize you were into bondage?
I was around 12 years old. I remember watching a mummy movie, and was captivated by scenes of people being mummified. I was too young to realize what my interest was really about. A few years later, we got the Internet in my house, and that really opened a whole, kinky world to me. I was hooked immediately. I definitely give a lot of credit to that movie.
How you best describe yourself and why? Your choices are: Dominant, Submissive, Switch or Fuzzy Rainbow Unicorn.
I've been primarily dominant through all of my bondage experiences. I take charge when we are having our play time, and love to dish it out. I like having control during our play. I'm much more secure with who I am at this point in my life, so I'd be interested in being on the receiving end every now and then, but I'd say I'm mainly a dom.
Do you feel that your desire for bondage is more physical or emotional? (please elaborate)
I think it's a little bit of both. It was probably mostly physical in my younger years, but I've opened up to the emotional side as I've matured with all of this. I feel like there's a responsibility in being a dom, and that's to take care of the woman that entrusts her body and control over to me during play. There's a love between us, and it comes out as we play. It's a nice combination of physical and emotional, and I think that makes it all the more better.
Were lovers accepting of your interest in bondage?
I've only tried it with one lover, and she grew to be fully in love with it.
Please briefly describe your first bondage experience.
I don't remember much about it other than I was really scared to do it. I had never done anything like it, and I didn't know how my girlfriend was going to react. I remember it being really basic stuff with just a simple tape gag and hands tied behind her back. It was very exciting and very terrifying at the same time. I didn't openly admit that I was into bondage at the time, as I was mostly testing out the waters.
What was your best bondage experience?
My best? I don't think I've had one experience that stands above the rest because I've been fortunate enough to have had a lot of great bondage experiences. I've had great times with ropes, ball gags, cat suits, and vibrators. I've also had experiences with cuffs, crotch ropes, and stuffed tape gags, and just as well I've had great experiences with full body mummification and orgasm control. All wonderful stuff.
What is the most creative safeword you have ever used?
We've actually never used a safe word. I know which limits I can test, and which limits I can't cross. Plus, she doesn't have a problem yelling at me through a gag (regardless of how strict it is), and I can tell by the sound of the muffle and/or her body language that it's time to pull back a little.
What do you feel is most important about the experience of bondage?
Safety and trust. The sub needs to be able to trust their well being in their dom's hands. You also have to do things safely so nobody ends up getting physically or emotionally hurt.
What is the best advice you would give to someone just starting out with BDSM?
Take it slow, and ease your way into it. Learn what your limits are, learn what your partner's limits are, and don't push too hard. Being a dom carries responsibility with it, and you have to respect your sub, and protect his/her well-being as they hand their body over to you.
What is your favorite gear, toy or lingerie item from sub-shop.com and why?
I love the worlds best gag tape. It certainly does the trick, and you can do more than just gag someone with it. I also love the smaller size ball gag because it fits her mouth well, and doesn't hurt her.
What is the one sensual fantasy you haven’t lived out yet that you are excited to try?
This may sound stereotypical, but I'd love to bring another woman into our play. I'd love to tie both women, and just watch them as they squirm and struggle (and maybe have an orgasm or two haha).
I'd also love to get my partner into a latex catsuit, and have some great latex bondage fun.
One more thing I'd like to try is to have my partner and I tied by a trusted third party.
